“Science, Cars and Medicine — A Noble Career,”
The nation’s medical care programs are hot topics in the news and around water coolers. Christy, a retired physician, will talk about the circuitous route that lead him from an interest in physics to fixing cars on the streets of Berkeley and finally a career in medicine.
He will share some of the lessons he learned along the way and how a love of lifelong learning fueled his journey.
He will also give his appraisal of the current state of medicine in the United States and include a discussion of the biggest change in federal support programs since Medicare — the Affordable Care Act or “ObamaCare.”
Organizers of the program invite the public to learn about the evolution of medical care in this country via the life experiences of Christy during his extraordinary career as a medical doctor.
Admission is free to this event which will be held in C-102, the Community Room at Folsom Lake College, El Dorado Center, 6699 Campus Drive in Placerville.
