Stanislaus County Assessor Leaving to Head California Building Industry Association
Stanislaus County Assessor David Cogdill Sr. announced his coming departure in a letter to Board of Supervisors Chairman Vito Chiesa on Thursday. Cogdill is leaving to serve as president and chief executive officer of the California Building Industry Association (CBIA).
"It will be a privilege to lead CBIA in these dynamic times," Cogdill said. "CBIA has forged its reputation in Sacramento based on trust, integrity and working collaboratively toward thoughtful policy solutions to some of our state's most pressing challenges. I am honored to build on this strong history and lead CBIA into the future."
Cogdill took over as county assessor in 2011. From 2000 to 2010, he served as a state senator. His resume also includes a stint as leader of the Senate Republican caucus.
Cogdill’s term as county assessor was set to expire in 2014. County leaders will soon move forward with discussions on an interim replacement.
