EID Director Alan Day endorses Dr. Dale Coco for EID Board of Directors
Placerville, Calif — Dr. Dale Coco, candidate for EID Board of Directors Division 4, accepted the endorsement of EID Director Alan Day Sept. 20. Day currently represents EID Division 5 and was elected with a significant margin two years ago. As a result of redistricting, a portion of his former district is now part of the new Division 4.
Dr. Coco has spent his life helping people, from one-on-one as their physician to finding solutions to complex institutional problems.
Day said, “Dr. Coco has been involved in trying to help reform EID for the last three years. He helped me get elected to the EID board two years ago where I voted against the five-year EID rate increase plan, voted against management raises, and proposed a $2 million budget cut that was shot down by the rest of the board. Like me, Dr. Coco is fiscally conservative and responsible and I could use his help to effect the changes necessary at EID.”
“I am thrilled to have received the important endorsement of Director Day,” said Dr. Coco. “Working with Alan on the board will allow us to bring forward the necessary solutions to restore EID to health. Specifically, Alan and I agree that:
- We need to get control of the massive $370 million debt.
- We will stop the runaway double digit rate increases at EID that hurt our businesses and families so much.
It is necessary to keep control of our water local, protecting it from outside forces in Sacramento and Southern California that would love to get their hands on it.
Director Day has brought forward new ideas to reform EID, and I look forward to adding my voice to his.”
Dr. Coco and his wife have lived in El Dorado County for 39 years, where they raised their family. He spent eight years as the sideline doctor for the Oak Ridge High School football team, and he participated in numerous groups working to make our county a better place for all of its residents.
The election for EID Board of Directors is Nov. 5.
