El Dorado Hills Fashion designer Benefit for Boys & Girls Club of El Dorado County
EL DORADO HILLS, CA - New York, Paris and London may be known as the fashion capitals of the world, but Caren Templet, a fashion designer living in El Dorado Hills, wants to add Sacramento to the list.
In addition to her highly successful flagship store in Sacramento which opened in 2009, she also has an appointment-only couture atelier in Hermosa Beach in Los Angeles. Templet’s designs boast pleats, petticoats and puffed sleeves in cross-palette colors and luscious, often shimmering, fabrics.
In October, Templet will be unveiling her Fall/Winter 2013 Collection in a fashion show celebrating everything Bond called “Shaken Not Stirred.” The Fashion Show will be held at the Niello Concours at Serrano and will benefit the Boys & Girls Club of El Dorado County.
What do you like most about your job?
I just love what I do. I love creating my designs and seeing my label develop. Fashion and textiles are my passion.
Do you have a custom design service?
Yes I do. I have a New York client that I’m working with now.
Where did it all start for you?
My mother taught me how to sew. Later I went into interior design and floral design. I still make my own patterns and sew some of the larger pieces, although the majority is made by my own production manager and services.
