Chuck Holland, Apr. 25, 2012
Friends of NRA banquets are known for three things; fun, fellowship, and fundraising. Last year alone, there were over 1,064 Friends of NRA events across the country raising over $18.5 million dollars for The NRA Foundation. Since its inception Friends of NRA has held over 14,000 events, reached over 2.5 million attendees, and raised over $180 million through its wildly-successful fundraising program for the NRA Foundation, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.
We would like to extend a special thank you to M.O.R.E. Workshop for hosting our beverage service, and to all those in attendance for their contributions (tips) to M.O.R.E. helping both organizations become more successful within our community.
Through the hard work of our volunteers and the funds they raise through Friends of NRA banquets like ours, The NRA Foundation has been able to provide critical funding to firearm programs on the local, state, and national levels. Grants benefit programs such as youth education, law enforcement training, hunter education, conservation, firearms and marksmanship training and safety, and much more. Applications for the 2012-2013 grant cycle will be accepted starting on July 1, 2012. Visit http://www.nrafoundation.org/grants/statefund.asp for more information.
On behalf of the entire 2012 El Dorado Friends of NRA committee I would like to thank all that attended, supported and contributed. Preparations are already underway for next year’s event, and we hope to see everyone there.
