New Placerville parks regulations approved

The ordinance amending park regulation goes into effect 30 days from the Sept. 10 adoption and includes: no smoking in Benham Park, permitted in other city parks only in designated areas with posted signs and receptacles for cigarettes, ashes and butts; no commercial activity in any city park without written authorization of the director of Community Services, including the distribution of food or clothing; consumption of alcoholic beverages is permitted in Lions and Gold Bug Parks in designated areas, not permitted in other city parks except by special permit issued by the Community Services director; dogs must be maintained on a leash and properly licensed and vaccinated in all city parks, owners are responsible for removing fecal matter deposited by their dogs; no motor vehicles are allowed in the parks, including motorized scooter and miniature motorcycles; no amplified sound is allowed in city parks except for that being used for personal use at a volume insufficient to cause a public nuisance; firearms, fireworks and firecrackers are not allowed in city parks; camping is not allowed; bicycles may be used along paved walkways or where signage indicates use is permitted; skateboards, roller blades, roller skates and scooters are allowed only in areas posted to designate such use.
