Marshall Pediatrics puts Kids and their Families First
Marshall Pediatrics is a medical office that’s brimming with positive energy. From the book corner to the unique, themed exam rooms and an Otter Pop after a vaccine, the group of physicians and their staff aim to deliver excellent care in a nurturing, upbeat environment.
The pediatric group for Marshall Medical Center moved into its new spacious building a few years ago, but the building still has a bright, airy and new feeling. Brett Christiansen, MD, pediatrician and president of the physician’s group, says the sunny environment goes along with the care they provide. “I think we all are very upbeat and positive in our approach, which of course is critical when you’re dealing with children,” he said. “Also, we understand that the parent/child dynamic can add a lot of emotional impact to coming to the doctor. When you’re child is not well, it’s very stressful, so we also keep that in mind when dealing with parents.”
In addition to Dr. Christiansen, the group has four other physicians. Ulrich Hacker, MD, who was recently voted Favorite Pediatrician in Style Magazine’s annual Readers Choice Awards; Elizabeth Peterson, MD; Nicole Shorrock, MD and the most recent addition, Courtney LaCaze-Adams, MD. Dr. LaCaze-Adams has recently joined the group following the retirement of Earl Washburn, MD. He opened his practice 37 years ago and finally decided it was time to retire. Many children had the good fortune of Dr. Washburn’s care over the last three-plus decades and he’ll certainly be missed.
Conveniences at the office include vaccination tracking through a national database, available urgent care same-day appointments and usage of electronic medical records, which makes it more secure and efficient to obtain and record patient information.
All the physicians are currently accepting new patients. Marshall Pediatrics is located at 4341-A Golden Center Drive in Placerville. The phone number 530-626-1144.
