“Sew for Vets” to make neck and helmet coolers for our troops
“Sew for Vets” will make neck and helmet coolers for our troops in the war zones. A workshop is scheduled for Sept. 12, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Building, 130 Placerville Drive. The public is invited to bring their sewing machine, scissors and other sewing items to join the workshop. Please RSVP today to Karen Wilson at 530-676-2022.
The “Sew 4 Vets” Group and the American Sewing Guild (ASG) are supporting this effort along with the folks at the Veterans’ Memorial Building.
Local residents from the ASG will conduct the workshop and tell about this very worthwhile project. The ASG will be supplying the material, thread and other needed items. Volunteers need to bring their sewing machines with basic sewing supplies like scissors and seam rippers.
Nonsewers can help press, turn and or mark the finished product.
Please join us for a rewarding and fun filled day.
