2013 Lobster on the River
The Rotary Club of Placerville will be presenting the eighth annual Lobster on the River at the majestic and awe-inspiring Coloma Resort on Sept. 7. This spectacular fundraiser that takes place on the shores of the south fork of the American River.
The 2013 Lobster on the River is slated to take place from 5:30 p.m. until 10 p.m. on Sept. 7 at Coloma Resort. Headlining the live entertainment this year will be Garratt Wilkin and the Parrotheads. Wilkin is well known as the top Jimmy Buffett Tribute Band and is sure to entertain attendees of all ages.
Catering for the event will be presented by the well-known Rudy’s Hideaway of Rancho Cordova. On the menu will be a choice of delicious lobster or filet mignon accompanied by Caesar salad, baked potato, clam chowder in bread bowls and dessert. A no-host bar will be on site serving spirits, such as the “hurricane,” margaritas and selected beer and wines beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Proceeds from the 2013 Lobster on the River will benefit community projects of the Rotary Club of Placerville, to include the Boys & Girls Club of El Dorado County Western Slope and a variety of local community projects and organizations such as the ongoing renovation of Rotary Park and more.
In addition to a fabulous dinner and great entertainment at the beautiful Coloma Resort, those who attend Lobster on the River will have the opportunity to enter a raffle for several high-end prizes including a brand new fishing boat valued at $14,000 with only 250 tickets sold.
Tickets for Lobster on the River are $65 per person and available at various locations throughout El Dorado County including the new offices of the Mountain Democrat, The Paint Spot, Thompson’s Toyota, Thompson’s GMC Buick, Terri Prod’hon CPA, Sierra Gold Graphics, Stymeist Auto Body and Coloma Resort. Tickets can also be purchased from any Placerville Rotarian.
The Rotary Club of Placerville lives by the motto of “Service above Self” and aims to provide various resources that enrich the educational, recreational and humanitarian needs of communities. Although the projects differ from club to club, Rotarians from all over the world share the common goal of eradicating Polio once and for all.
Most recently the Placerville Rotary has been renovating Rotary Park. The local club also constructed the successful Placerville Skate Park and supports numerous charities in El Dorado County including the Boys and Girls Club of El Dorado County.
