Free Air Conditioning system by Beutler
Back in June, Beutler Air Conditioning & Plumbing launched the “Help A Home” program to give one local homeowner in need the chance to win a free air conditioning system.
Help A Home invited community members within Beutler Air Conditioning & Plumbing’s service area to nominate a deserving family member, friend, or neighbor to receive a brand new HVAC unit just before the summer heat arrives. Residents within Beutler’s service areas were encouraged to share stories about why their family member, friend or neighbor should receive this in-home unit valued at more than $8,900.00. Beutler Air Conditioning & Plumbing also would install the system free of charge and one of its expert technicians will explain how to use it.
The Help A Home program was designed to give a deserving individual or family a new HVAC unit to not only beat the heat, but to improve the home’s indoor air quality. Poorly maintained or out-of-date air conditioning units can lead to a number of problems in the home, including temperature inconsistencies, polluted indoor air, higher energy bill costs and expensive repairs from the system working overtime. A new HVAC system from Beutler Air Conditioning & Plumbing will lower energy costs, keep the home cool and comfortable, and improve air quality inside the winner’s home.
Submissions were be collected until June 14, 2013. All nominees were homeowners. After the submission window closed, Beutler Air Conditioning & Plumbing selected the top five nominated families and individuals and perform onsite visits at each nominee’s home. Following the site visits, the winner was announced and Beutler Air Conditioning & Plumbing technicians installed the system.
Beutler selected Placerville resident Shirley Mattison as the winner of the “Help A Home” program. Mattison was carefully selected to win the grand prize of a free air conditioning and heating system for her mobile-home in Placerville.
Beutler representatives decided early on that Mattison was more than deserving of the new system. Mattison’s sister entered her in the contest. Mattison had been living with a broken air conditioner for four years, with only a window fan to cool her in the summers that reach well over 100 degrees, and a portable space heater to warm her in the winters. She is retired and lives on a fixed income, working part-time with special needs students at a local public school. Purchasing an $8,000 heating and cooling system was simply not in Mattison’s budget.
The new HVAC system from Beutler Air Conditioning & Plumbing that was installed in Mattison’s home will significantly lower energy costs, keep the home cool and comfortable, and improve air quality inside the home.
“Giving back to the community is engrained in Beutler’s culture,” said Jim Anderberg, general manager, Beutler Air Conditioning and Plumbing. “Shirley definitely deserves a safe and properly functioning heating and cooling system in her home. We are thrilled to give Shirley an opportunity to keep cool this summer and save money in the process. This is just a part of many more community initiatives to come.”
