Home Energy Assistance Program now open
El Dorado County Health and Human Services Agency announces the opening of the 2013 HEAP Season.
The federally-funded Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) helps income-eligible families pay their energy bills. If you are eligible, HEAP can help you pay for electricity, wood, propane, pellets or heating oil. Benefits are paid once a year. The amount of the benefit depends on your household income and size, and the amount of your energy bill compared to your income. Even if utilities are included in your rent, HEAP may be able to help.
HEAP Applications may be picked up at the following HEAP offices: In Placerville at 937 Spring Street (530-621-6150) and South Lake Tahoe at 3368 Lake Tahoe Blvd., #202 (530-573-3490).
The 2013 HEAP Program has several program changes this year. Please make sure to check online, by phone or by person for program guidelines and changes. HEAP Applications will be accepted by appointment only or at one of our community HEAP distribution sites.
