Laurel Stroud, Apr. 13, 2012
Hello, for those of you who are not aware of it, on April 2 Len was rushed to the hospital with pneumonia, which quickly turned into septic shock. He suffered cardiac arrest, and went without oxygen to the brain for several minutes, despite everyone's best efforts. He was unconscious and has remained so.
Since that time, every effort has been made to help him and get him to recover. Sadly, all efforts have been in vain, and he remains unconscious and non-responsive to any stimuli. His children and I have made the decision to let him go peacefully. We've tried everything and talked with every doctor we could. But nothing has or will make a difference. And we know very well that he does not want to be kept alive through artificial means. And also, we know he is not in pain.
I thank all of you for your love and friendship and I know you care a great deal about Len and family. Please wish for him a peaceful trip and I will let you know how things progress. I think it will be soon. Thanks so much again to all of you.
