Kick off May is Bike Month with the “Great Bike Ride”

On May 1, 2012 from Noon – 1:00 PM, the El Dorado County Transportation Commission invites you to join County Supervisors, colleagues, and local bicycling advocates for the 2012 “Great Bike Ride.” The Great Bike Ride is the annual kick-off event held each May in support of “Bike Month.” The bike ride begins at Noon in the breezeway of Building A at the El Dorado County Government Center. Please bring a bicycle and a helmet. Free 2012 Bike Month T-shirts to all participants!

Participants will ride along the El Dorado Trail from Forni Road to the Weber Creek Bridge or Missouri Flat Road. If you plan to participate and want a complimentary lunch from Friends of the El Dorado Trail – please RSVP no later than Friday, April 27th to Joni Rice at jrice@edctc.org.

This year’s cycling goal for the Sacramento Region is 1.5 million miles. What is your cycling goal? National Bike to Work Day is Friday May 18th, challenge your colleagues to ride to work on that day …or any day in May!
