Placerville Andy Gregg Edged Out By Mason Moore in California Sprint Car Civil War Series race
Princeton's Mason Moore won the 22-car A feature race Sunday night at Silver Dollar Speedway as the 360 winged sprint cars of the California Sprint Car Civil War Series came to Chico as part of the Silver Dollar Fair.
Moore beat runner-up Andy Gregg of Placerville, with Fremont's Shane Golobic in third. Prundale's Justin Sanders came in fourth, and Sacramento's Herman Klein rounded out the top five.
Placerville's Jimmy Trulli won the 18-car B feature, followed by Roseville's Sean Becker in second and Napa's Kirt Organ in third.
Oroville's Heath Hall won the 16-car C feature, with Sacramento's Nick McColloch in second and Oregon's Brian Boswell in third.
Elverta's Steven Tiner won the first of four heat races, beating Oregon's Kyle Miller in second and Lodi's Shawn Wright in third.
Auburn's Andy Forsberg won the second heat, ahead of Golobic in second and Gregg in third.
Max Adams of Plumas took the third heat, Corning's Bud Walberg finished second and Benecia's Billy Aton placed third.
Sanders won the fourth heat, with Klein in second and Anderson's Keith Bloom in third.
Sebastopol's Geoff Ensign had the fastest time in qualifying in a field of 49 cars, turning a lap of 13.074 seconds.
