Highway 49 South Fork Bridge Public Notice
The Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will be holding a Public Meeting next Tuesday, May 14, 2013 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Gold Trail Grange in Coloma to discuss the State Route 49 South Fork American River Bridge Project. Caltrans proposes to rehabilitate or replace the South Fork American River Bridge on State Route 49 in El Dorado County to meet current seismic standards.

WHAT IS BEING PROPOSED
The Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to rehabilitate or replace the South Fork
American River Bridge on State Route 49 in El Dorado County to meet current seismic standards.
The project will incorporate other upgrades as appropriate, such as standard shoulders and lanes, inclusion of bicycle and pedestrian lanes, and more. Alternatives that widen or replace the bridge
include construction work on the adjacent roadway to accommodate alignment shifts and conform back to the existing road.
Residents, business owners and commuters are encouraged to attend to get information on the proposed project and to provide comments and input. Caltrans staff will discuss the project alternatives and answer questions.
