No plans yet for rezoned commercial land in El Dorado Hills

After years of trying, a property owner has gotten land in El Dorado County rezoned for commercial use. But don’t expect to see a shopping center or some other development there anytime soon.
George Carpenter, vice president with the Winn Communities ownership group, said the owners have no current plans to develop the southwest corner of Green Valley and Francisco roads in El Dorado Hills.
“If the economy turns around, it may be something we look at,” said Carpenter, but he added with many neighbors concerned over a future commercial development on the 6.85-acre parcel, Winn Communities will want to work with them before any formal proposals go forth.
