

Biology, genetics, nursing, medicine and surgery are the career goals of a dozen people who were awarded scholarships to continue their education during a special luncheon in El Dorado Hills on Friday.
The Mercy Auxiliary, a nonprofit group which runs the gift shop in the hospital and takes on other volunteer duties.
For Oak Ridge High School senior Kimberly Berg, the money will help her pursue a cutting-edge career.
“I’m planning a career as a scientific researcher in the field of genetics,” said the El Dorado Hills teenager. “I’ve always liked biology.”
