Just after 10:00 PM last night (Sunday 03/10/2013) the Sheriff’s dispatch center received a call from a woman (Deborah Lewis 42 yrs) advising that her husband (Craig Templin, 51 yrs) had been stabbed. Further information revealed that the couple had been living in a tent along the railroad right of way outside of the town of El Dorado.
According to Deborah Lewis an unknown male subject entered their tent while they were sleeping. They woke as he began to assault them. The suspect had a knife in his possession and attempted to stab Mr. Templin. Both Templin and Lewis advised they did not know the suspect and had never seen him before. The suspect was later identified as a 17 year old male from Shingle Springs.
During the struggle both Mr. Templin and the juvenile suspect received knife wounds. Eventually Mr. Templin was able to fight off the juvenile and detained him until Sheriff’s Deputies arrived at the scene. The juvenile male was taken into custody for attempted murder.
All three of the involved individuals were transported to the Hospital and treated. All survived their injuries. The juvenile was booked into juvenile hall for attempted murder.
