Specifically, net proceeds will benefit the Breast Cancer Fund and the Soroptimist International of Cameron Park and El Dorado Hills Soroptimist’s share will focus on helping provide education for women who are financially responsible for themselves and their families.
The event is Thursday, March 21 at the Cameron Park Community Services District Community Center, 2502 Country Club Drive in Cameron Park.
The reception with beverages for sale starts at 6:30 p.m.and showtime is 7 p.m.
The first Soroptimist Club was established in 1921 by a group of 80 women in Oakland. The Cameron Park/El Dorado Hills club was chartered in 1981 and has 26 members.
This organization is a volunteer service organization which includes active and retired business and professional women who are dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls in local communities and throughout the world.
Internationally, the club has nearly 100,000 members in 120 countries and has official status with the United Nations to advocate on behalf of women’s and children’s issues.
The Cameron Park/El Dorado Hills club has primarily raised funds through A Chocolate Affair, partnering with the Placerville Soroptimist Club, and the Cameron Park Show ‘n’ Shine and Fly-In, partnering with Rotary.
Lunafest is a new endeavor for the club. All funds raised go back to the community and women and children through scholarships and grants.
