Come see what’s new in March at the Art on the Divide Gallery as the artists offer their interpretations of the theme “March Madness.”
An artistic challenge, the monthly theme will inspire members’ creativity and help them explore new and interesting ways to think and imagine. A shared creative goal provides insights into the minds of the artists, showing similarities and differences between the artists of the gallery, both in interpretation and implementation.
What does the phrase “March Madness” mean to you? How can you visually show the meaning, what medium should you use, how big will it be?
Much thought and some interesting conversations and ideas have been passed around, and the artists are eager to show their work. Stop by in March to see the new artwork and talk to the artists about the theme.
Members of the Art on the Divide Gallery are very pleased to announce that, beginning in February, a section of the gallery is dedicated to displaying the artwork of local high school students from Golden Sierra High School in Garden Valley.
There are many talented students in the area and the members of the gallery look forward to the opportunity to encourage and support those talents.
The gallery artists believe that the arts are an essential part of a strong community and economy, and that participation in the arts improves learning, inspires innovation, and nurtures the minds of our young people.
The artists encourage the public to celebrate the young artists of the Divide and view the artwork. Student artwork will be rotated every two to three weeks.
The Art on the Divide Gallery is located in one of Georgetown’s historical buildings at 6295 Main St. halfway between the fire station and the American River Inn.
The winter hours are Friday through Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
