For the skiing crowd in the Sacramento/Placer/El Dorado county areas, that's good news. While spring conditions prevail, the skiing has been very good, according to reports from local skiers.
Vail Resorts owns Heavenly, Kirkwood, and Northstar. Two of those resorts, HeavenlyandKirkwood, have announced that they intend to stay open through April. The original closing date of April 15 has been pushed to April 29.
With the extended date comes a shorter ski week. The resorts will open only from Fridays through Sundays for the extended time past April 15. All of this, of course, is completely dependent on the weather.
