Brown puts out a press release saying we will have a budget surplus, in the face of the Controller admitting we have a $24.3 billion cash deficit, owe $10 billion to the Feds, $15 billion in money stolen from Trust Funds, $10 billion borrowed from Wall Street to help cover the deficit, $12.5 billion owed government schools and more—$90 billion in total.

State jobless claims rise by 10,000
California saw an increase in jobless claims of 10,232. It attributed the change to layoffs in the service, agriculture, forestry and fishing industries.
