
Marilyn Ruth Ringgenberg died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at the age of 72 at her home in Placerville, Calif., after a courageous three-year battle with Alzheimer’s. Her loving spouse of 53 years, Cecil Ringgenberg, was with her at the end. Born in Duluth, Minn., on June 22, 1940, she moved to Sacramento in 1953 with her parents, Helmer and Betty Johnson. She is survived by her children, Jane Elizabeth, Stephanie Lynne, Keith Patrick, Susan Michelle and Mark Allan. She has 10 grandchildren, Kimberly, Chelsea, Natasha, Jenaye, Tanya, Joseph, Victoria, Jaclyn, Jillian and John. Other family includes her sisters, Linda Johnson of Sacramento, Calif., and Deanne Westman of Folsom, Calif.; many cousins and loving friends.
Marilyn graduated from Sacramento High School in 1958. She and Cecil were high school sweethearts and got married on Aug. 23, 1959. After graduating American River College in 1971, she worked as a registered nurse at Sutter Memorial Hospital for 19 years. A musician, she played organ, piano and keyboard for more than 50 years in churches where she worshipped.
A memorial service for her family, friends and associates will be held at New Hope Fellowship Church, 3838 Ponderosa Road in Shingle Springs, Calif., at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Jan. 19.
