Carson Road Wineries, an informal affiliation of 8 family-owned wineries in beautiful El Dorado County, announced the date for their 1st Bring Out the Barrel wine tasting. Tickets are $25 for both days and include wine samplings and a wineglass with the event logo. Member wineries will be open from 11am to 5pm sampling their as-yet-unreleased wines directly from the barrel both of the event days in their wineries and tasting rooms. Tickets are available on-line at: http://www.crystalbasin.com/store/products.asp?cat=24.
Members of Carson Road Wineries hosting Bring Out the Barrel are:
Crystal Basin Cellars, Illuminaire, Beemer's Winery, Findleton Estate, Fenton Herriott, Bumgarner, Chateau Davel and diVittorio Winery. All of these small-production wineries are located along or near Carson Road, which winds along vineyards and orchards between the communities of Placerville and Camino on the western slope of the Sierra Foothills, parallel to Highway 50.
Carson Road Wineries has brought an innovative thought into play - working together to market the stellar experiences offered by the participating wineries. A website has been developed (www.carsonroadwineries.com) and an event calendar has been created for 2013. "We're the most accessible group of wineries in our region", said Mike Owen, organizer of the group. "People have discovered that there are really great wineries and that the experience is like Napa and Sonoma were 20 and 30 years ago. We see this alliance as an opportunity to connect with customers and benefit each of our businesses. Our customer-focused approach is what new visitors seem to notice first. We can confidently refer customers to any of our neighboring wineries knowing that they will enjoy excellent wines and authentic winery experiences."
Over the past 4 years, Carson Road Wineries has become known for hosting their popular Cuisine on Carson consumer tasting event on the last Saturday in February. “We have been thankful and overwhelmed by the customer response to our Cuisine on Carson events", said Owen. "The great thing about this event has been watching our customers discover the other excellent neighboring wineries. We are all committed to sharing our great wines coupled with foothill hospitality with the goal of making our area a go-to destination. Customers are planning and making repeat visits, which is beneficial to all of us."
Carson Road Wineries will host Cuisine on Carson again on February 23rd, 2013. This will be a complimentary event for customers who bring their own wine glass. The day features wine tasting and small bites food pairings intended to accentuate the bold wine flavors from this region.
Carson Road Wineries has also scheduled a music-themed event for July 27th that will feature acts at each of the wineries and intends to develop and promote additional events as schedules will allow.
