A South Lake Tahoe man killed himself Saturday evening after a dispute on his doorstep over vehicle damage, according to a South Lake Tahoe police report.
Police responded to a shooting on Brockway Avenue and Rubicon Trail at about 9:30 p.m. Saturday after the suspect allegedly drew a revolver on another man during an argument over vehicle damage, according to the police press release. The argument began after the victim confronted the suspect at the suspect’s doorstep about the victim’s vehicle being damaged, the release said.
The suspect allegedly aimed the revolver at the victim, the release said. The victim “immediately turned and began to run away” as at least one shot was fired, the release said.
The suspect left on foot as South Lake Tahoe police, El Dorado County Sheriff's deputies and California Highway Patrol officers established a perimeter around the crime scene in the area. While officers established the perimeter, the suspect then ran into the street and shot himself in the head, according to the police press release.
