Sacramento Theatre Company presents the Northern California premiere of “BARK! The Musical,” a howlingly funny, fast-paced and poignant tribute to man’s best friend.
Performed by a six member cast and told and sung from the dog’s point of view — from the little puppy who yearns to bark like a real dog, to an opera singing poodle and a street mutt who raps — this musical possesses the huge heart and the playful joyousness present in man’s truest friends. Young and old will all find an emotional connection with “BARK!”
The cast members are: Armond Edward Dorsey as King, the Labrador Retriever; Jessica Goldman as Boo, the Cocker Spaniel; Miranda D. Lawson as Golde, the Bull Dog; Sean Patrick Nill is Sam, the Pit Bull mutt; Tyler Wipfli is Chanel, the French Poodle; and Scottie Woodward is Rocks, the Jack Rusell pup.
Previews start Wednesday, Jan. 9 at 12:30 p.m. and run through Saturday, Jan. 12 at 2 p.m. Tickets for previews are available at the special rate of $30 for adults, $25 for seniors and $15 for students.
This Sacramento Theatre Company is showing at the Wells Fargo Pavilion, 1419 H St. in Sacramento. Opening night is 8 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12, and the performance includes a special post performance reception with the cast.
