Melody Lane Needs Help - with a Stuck Buck

Lane says this buck has a mate, and together they have had several fawns on her property over the years.
California Fish & Game told FOX40 they were heading out to Lane’s property late Friday night to rescue the buck.
COLOMA (CBS13) – A buck is stuck in El Dorado County. Its antlers became wrapped in torn tarp and barbed wire in a woman’s backyard.
It’s not your typical backyard nuisance, but the woman doesn’t have your typical backyard. Melody Lane found the tangled deer on a walk through her giant 10-acre property Friday afternoon.
“I’m gonna call him El Dorado,” said Lane.
Lane says she’s made calls to try to have the buck rescued, but so far no agency has agreed to help.
“We do not want this deer destroyed. We want it rescued; he’s a beautiful trophy buck,” said Lane.
Deputies from the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Department checked on the buck and determined it is still healthy. However, deputies are not trained to rescue an animal this size, and typically would remove a buck like this one by putting it down.
Lane says this buck has a mate, and together they have had several fawns on her property over the years.
“He is a beautiful four-point buck,” said Lane.
He is one of nature’s beauties, but now he is losing a battle with a barbed wire fence.
“You know this animal is in deep distress right now,” said Lane.
She’s hoping someone will have a heart of gold, and save it. Lane’s property backs up to the Marshall Gold Discovery State Park, and says the California Department of Fish and Wildlife has been unresponsive to her calls for help.
