InEDC.com has only been online for 11 months and has out preformed other sites including both traditional newspapers’ websites that are entrenched in their markets and have been publishing for decades!

“It is true that InEDC has been online less than a year, but I did spend years beta testing predecessor websites including PRpond.com and Placerville.info,” said designer and owner Cris Alarcon.  “Only after I had tested and retested the best mix of content and delivery did I launch InEDC.”

InEDC.com is a community-specific news and information platform dedicated to providing comprehensive and trusted local coverage for El Dorado County communities and related news tailored to local readership.  InEDC.com is a fast-developing online news aggregator and original news resource that brings its readers up-to-date information on El Dorado County issues.  InEDC.com provides an interesting mix of hard news stories, as well as being an important source of local information and opinion. InEDC.com does not simply focus on the big stories, but seeks out some of more unusual and interesting issues from around the county.

"Despite the existence of the internet, 24-hour talk radio and news television channels, it seems harder to get a real handle on the news then ever," says Alarcon.

“In an increasingly diffuse news ecosystem, news aggregators have a valuable role to play.  Right now traditional bundlers are dissolving, so smart curation, thoughtful selection, and outbound linking is a service that stands alongside creating content.

News delivery that understands and leverages new media is vital to both information consumers as well as producers, including many journalists who are desperately trying to get their work in front of people now that corporate-owned news organizations have shed them by the thousands.

Although InEDC.com does publish some original content, it does not function to supplant traditional media but rather to act as an interstitial that packages information in a manner that today's consumers want and then provides the outbound links to those sources.  We augment old media directing interested readers to the content,” Says Alarcon.  “I think the result speaks for itself,” He added.
