BILL SNODGRASS, Dec 19 2012
The staff and actors at Imagination Theater opened their doors for a free “Christmas” performance of “The Little Princess” to families and children from New Morning, CASA, Big Brothers Big Sisters and Family Connections. What a special gift to those kids and families that would not have otherwise been able to attend a live performance and go back stage and meet the actors. Santa also made a special appearance with refreshments served by the Placerville Kiwanis Club.
Everyone involved in putting on the performance received a special gift when watching the kids’ faces light up and hearing their stories such as, “I want to be in a play like that sometime,” and surprised to find out that they could do that by auditioning for the next play at no cost to their family. In addition to providing these young people an unforgettable evening of entertainment (without any electronic devices) they could see what other young people in our community are doing, something that they can do and possible change the direction of their lives.
A big thanks and a dozen roses to the staff and actors at Imagination Theater for taking their time and resources to give this special performance to a special part of our community.
I highly recommend that everyone see “The Little Princess.” You will thoroughly enjoy yourself.
