Eric St. Denis caught what his dad is calling a "Monster Mackinaw Lake Trout" on Sunday, Dec. 9 at Lake Tahoe.
Eric and his father, Gene St. Denis of Blue Ribbon Fishing Charters, were fishing in 30 feet of water off the Cave Rock shelf.
The fish is 42 inches long and 28 pounds, 9 ounces, per Gene. It was a personal best for the 17-year-old South Lake Tahoe high school student, who used a Monster Trophy Stick in a custom German Brown Pattern to catch the fish.
Said Gene St. Denis: "It gave Eric everything he could handle during the long fight to the Net!"
