A former longtime resident of Rescue, Calif., James Neil Skelton passed away peacefully at his home in Washington state in the company of his loving wife on Dec. 8, 2012. Jim was a lover of life and was always on the go. His great loves of his life were first his family and then fishing, traveling and gardening, especially tomatoes. Sometimes not in that order, as he would say. During his working years, he loved to meet his friends at the local diner and “shoot the breeze with his buddies.”
In his younger years Jim raced motorcycles and served our country honorably in the Navy. After he moved to Rescue he owned and operated his own heavy-equipment business and took great pride in his work. He retired and moved to Washington state to help take care of his in-laws.
Jim is survived by family and friends who loved him and hold him dear. We will walk together forever because we walk together in love.
There will be a graveside service on Friday, Dec. 14, at 1 p.m. The service will be held at the Green Valley Cemetery. The phone number for directions is 530-677-7171.
