Staying where they are on 3 acres near Coloma is definitely in the short-term plan. Green said they enjoy hiking along the river and might get more interested in the American River Conservancy and the Wakamatsu historical project.
The longest serving County Counsel in the history of El Dorado County retired effective Friday Dec. 7. After nearly 17 years on the job, Lou Green said, “It’s time to find out what else life holds for me.”
In a wide-ranging interview after his last El Dorado County Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday, Green described a passion for the work he’s done for four decades but noted, “I can’t leave the job at the office, and I haven’t taken much time off in the past 40 years.”
That passion and commitment to his work left Green little time to develop other hobbies or interests and he said that he’ll “take some time to decompress” before jumping into a second career or avocation.
