The longest serving County Counsel in the history of El Dorado County retired effective Friday Dec. 7. After nearly 17 years on the job, Lou Green said, “It’s time to find out what else life holds for me.”
In a wide-ranging interview after his last El Dorado County Board of Supervisors meeting Tuesday, Green described a passion for the work he’s done for four decades but noted, “I can’t leave the job at the office, and I haven’t taken much time off in the past 40 years.”
That passion and commitment to his work left Green little time to develop other hobbies or interests and he said that he’ll “take some time to decompress” before jumping into a second career or avocation. He said there is “no compulsion” influencing his decision and that his department will experience a “good transition” as Chief Deputy County Counsel Ed Knapp steps into the role of department ...
