Boylan resigns, Bist appointed to Mother Lode Union School District Board

At the Wednesday night board of trustees meeting of the Mother Lode Unified School District, the board accepted the resignation letter of candidate Richard Boylan. Gene Bist Sr. was then appointed to fill the vacancy.
In his letter, Boylan said in part that, “I am formally and officially declining to be sworn in as Board Member for the 2012-2016 full term which commences December 10, 2012. Thus while elected, I am declining to serve or to be sworn in. I request the New Board to declare a vacancy (my position). My suggestion is that the Board fill it by appointment.”
