Rodney Stanhope, Operation Christmas for our Troops, Dec 12 2012
Operation Christmas for the Troops IX “Northern California” event will take place from Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at 12 noon through Monday, December 23, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. Like every other year, Yellow Ribbon America’s “Military Elf” Rodney Stanhope, will be living in a Tuff Shed 24 hours a day for 12 days. The shed will be located in the parking lot on Arden Way next to The Cheesecake Factory in the Market Square at Arden Fair, 1901 Arden Way, Sacramento.
THIS YEAR’S MISSION IS BIGGER & BETTER THAN EVER:
The objective of Operation Christmas for our Troops IX is to bring community-based help and support for the families of America’s deployed and home-based military members and their families so that they can have the best Christmas Season possible. Like too many Americans today, many of our military families are facing financial difficulties. Helping these military families provide their children with a gift to say thank you for their service and sacrifice for our country will make a difference for the child, the family and the soldier by showing we are a grateful nation.
Participation is easy:
Drop off a new, unwrapped toy or gift card to be given to the children of deployed or in need military to Rodney, aka “Santa’s Shed dwelling Military Elf,” in the Market Square parking lot next to Cheesecake Factory at Arden Mall. You can also make a financial donation to our Troops by purchasing a Yellow Ribbon to hang on the Freedom Tree.
Yellow Ribbon America (YRA), The California State Legislature, The California National Guard, The Fulcrum Management Group, DWD Security, Sacramento Breakfast Optimist Club, Tuff Shed and Market Square at Arden Fair are sponsoring “Operation Christmas for the Troops IX”. This non-partisan, statewide effort to provide gifts from citizens of California to children of our deployed and in need military families is just a small way we would like to say “Thank you for your Service.”
Families of our military may come by the shed to pick up gifts for their children. You must have current Military ID. Units can coordinate picking up gifts through the YRA web site www.yellowribbonamerica.org or visit https://www.facebook.com/YellowRibbonAmerica for more info.
