Michele Van Horn installed as El Dorado County Women’s Council of Realtors president
Michele Van Horn ABR, CRS, EPRO, GRI, PMN, SRES, of Lyon Real Estate was installed as the 2013 president of the El Dorado County Women’s Council of Realtors in a ceremony held at Cameron Park County Club on Dec 7.
The El Dorado County Chapter is a professional real estate group affiliated with the Women’s Council of Realtors, a national professional development organization with 19,000 members.
Van Horn will serve a year term as president and will preside at Governing Board and Chapter meetings, coordinate officer and committee activities and responsibilities, and appoint all committees, except Nominating Committee.
Van Horn has been active in WCR the for 20 years and has held positions of vice chair of Membership, and president-elect. She has been a Realtor for 24 years.
The continuing goals of WCR are providing real estate related programs, fostering opportunities to meet other real estate professionals and finding referrals. This is a friendly, supportive community where it is OK to take risks, grow as a leader and grow personally. Any person who contributes to prosperity must prosper in turn.
The chapter has held fundraisers every year, supporting the Women’s Shelter of El Dorado County, CASA and many other worthy causes in the area. This year the chapter plans to support the Food Bank of El Dorado County. The Food Bank provides food assistance on a daily basis in partnership with more than 40 local emergency food response agency sites including battered women’s shelters, senior centers, local food pantries, under privileged youth programs, youth shelters, soup kitchens, maternity homes and more.
