Family Gets Stuck in Snow in El Dorado County, Later Rescued

A couple and their 2-year-old child became stuck in the snow Monday evening in El Dorado County.
The California Highway Patrol reported that a car was reported stuck near Mehrten Spring Road and State Route 88. The man walked from the car along the road until he got better cell phone service.
He reportedly tried to put chains on the car, but one broke. Units are now en route to try and rescue the family.
According to the CHP, the car became stuck around 5 p.m. They were rescued at about 9 p.m.
