Sierra Foothills Tea Party, PRpond, Nov 16 2012
We are having a special meeting this Friday night at the Fire Department. Our guest speaker will be Rex Ruth! Meeting will be held at the Cameron Park Fire Department Community Conference room, located at 3200 Country Club Drive, in Cameron Park.
Rex Ruth has written a study guide used by home-schoolers and Sunday schools alike that traces the development of constitutional law and the U.S. Constitution. Mr. Ruth has been a docent at the California State Gold Discovery Park in Coloma California for seven years.
"We all declare for liberty; but in using the same word we do not all mean the same thing. With some the word liberty may mean for each man to do as he pleases with himself, and the product of his labor; while with others, the same word may mean for some men to do as they please with other men, and the product of other men's labor. Here are two, not only different, but incompatible things, called by the same name - liberty. And it follows that each of the things is, by the respective parties, called by two different and incompatible names - liberty and tyranny."
Rex Ruth wrote to our tea party:
To my fellow Americans
This note is in response to some reactions I received from rank and file tea party members as well as their leadership to Mr. Obama’s reelection.
First of all, It is a historical fact (or principle if you wish) that throughout history, every act of tyranny, every passage of unjust laws and every despot’s oppressive measures causes its own opposition; and to show this is yet true today, the Obama Administration created its own opposition in the form of the Tea Party; and it’s response to these acts of tyranny, unjust laws and decrees is now a matter of history which I do not need to recount, for you were there! None can doubt that the people within the Tea Party had done a wonderful service to America by their bravery, wisdom and tireless efforts to protect our venerable Constitution and our American way of life. Besides my family, my greatest blessing has been to stand up with all of you in this our most sacred cause to secure our liberties for ourselves and our posterity.
But there is yet another principle in history and that is simply this: There are no permanent victories and there are no permanent defeats and that is why the cost of liberty and freedom is eternal willingness to be vigilant as well as to fight and to fight again whenever the battle arises. And that is true because the wickedness of the heart of man is such that he is always tempted to steal and control through coercion, lies and character assassination of any who oppose them.
But although Mr. Obama caused the Tea Party to rise, will history record that he destroyed it in four years?
On the night of November 6th we had all received a dispiriting defeat to be sure, and since then I have heard Tea Party rank and file, as well as leaders cry out (literally amidst tears and sobs as well as in printed word) and they lamented that “…we lost, we failed, it is all over and the country is lost”. They also said “there is no hope we are all doomed!” I even saw one post in my email from a local Tea Party group leader that read “Yesterday we lost…Yesterday America lost…Today America is lost!” That begs the question “Why go on? Why don’t you just shut down your Tea Party group…after all, we lost and it is all over?” I also got emails of people saying simply “I quit!”
“We lost?” “I quit?” To accept defeat and to quit means to abandon! And what is being abandoned? They are abandoning an idea unique to the world; an idea that caused copious amounts of fraternal blood, an idea that took over thirty-five centuries to develop! They are abandoning what is right conceding to what is wrong! They are abandoning what is moral and just giving way to what is immoral and unjust! They are abandoning their country which is the ONE true light of justice and hope for the world thus abandoning the hope and dreams of humans still in bondage! But the real question is “Are they going to abandon that which is not theirs alone, but what belongs to millions of Americans born and yet unborn?” My intention here is not to expose anyone or make any one angry, but simply to challenge and to charge.
Many of you know me as the one who reenacts General J.C Fremont as well as Samuel Adams and although I understood the woes and cries of my compatriots, I began to wonder how Fremont and Adams would have reacted to these demonstrations of defeat. After pondering the question something built up in me because such grim prognostications and lamentations will affect the hearts and minds of our people and cause them to doubt our noble cause and this concerns me deeply.
I asked myself “How are those Tea Party members who hold to such hopelessness affecting their countrymen with such outbreaks’ and in my ears I could hear Mr. S. Adams say:
“ENOUGH! You are Tea Party members, you are Sons and Daughters of liberty…you are the shakers and movers of the community; your community looks to you for comfort wisdom, direction and hope. How is it you can spread this kind of hopelessness, despondencies and fears to others…if you want to quit, give up and stay home...do so, that is your decision but for the love of God and country, don’t discourage your fellow tea party members with such outcries and lamentations; Your depression and disquiet in the face of the very people you are suppose to inspire, encourage and uplift is catchy like wild fire on dry prairie grass...and certainly NEVER say such things in the face of the enemy! If you are not going to fight and lead then move over - there are those who will take your place and your name will go down in history as one who quit when your country needed you...one who gave up when the battle got hot...were you only willing to fight if you thought the battle was yours? Were you only willing to fight when victory was assured? Is that the true nature of a warrior or would you still fight in the face of defeat?”
For all of you who feel such sentiments I say peace, be still and know the battle is not for the strong alone but also for the stout in heart, and know that we stand not alone…for there is one who has always stood for us in times of trouble and He is unchangeable. If you are disquieted and fearful go to Him and he will give you courage liberally for he is the God of men and women of renown and courage.
This is not a day for fear and despondency, it is a day of thinning out the ranks to see who is TRULY a patriot and who is not...who TRULY loves their country and who does not. Providence hath given us this day of trial and tears, as he hath given such days to every generation, to TEST us and to prove us to see if we are worthy of the gift of being called a free people....and it is THERE in the midst of trials and tribulations that we build our testimony of love for liberty and freedom. There is NO glory or testimony in the lack of battle and who shall bare such testimony to our posterity without such conflict? But the conflict is here, the conflict is now upon us and how shall you meet it, how shall you act in the midst of it? So allow me to encourage you to encourage; let me admonish you to admonish; let me challenge you to challenge. We … your fathers saw, we fought and we prevailed and so can you…and so you must…you have no choice but to be victorious”
I am committed to continue pulling back the curtain on the stage of time and I have been saying to all of you "Look! Look at what our fathers did! Should you do differently? Are we to say "Thank God they cannot see their sacrifices squandered by the likes of this modern generation of Americans who simply melt away in the face of opposition? Look and learn, see and be challenged...behold and be comforted then get up…stand and be counted as one who stands in the face of adversity…as an example for others to follow!"
Tea Party was not created simply to oppose Obama, but to oppose oppression from anyone. Hath he vanquished you?
I do not know about you but as for me and my house, we are undaunted and we shall never fly in the face of the enemy nor will we ever abandon America in her greatest hour of need! And as my fathers before me, I shall watch and pray, believe and act, for within these walls of my little house, liberty hath found her greatest friend and defender.
Your fellow countryman and fellow Son of Liberty…
This is why we need to become very involved in Voter Integrity and Poll Watching efforts, among others.
