There is a new official voice for the Placerville office of the California Highway Patrol.
Officer Quinn Cuthbertson, 41, has taken over the duties of the public information officer following former spokesman Officer Dan Stark’s return to the road.
Cuthbertson began his career with the CHP in 1999 in central Los Angeles, but his initial goal wasn’t to be in law enforcement.
The native Californian graduated from Northern Arizona University with a degree in Human Resource Management.
“There were no jobs available in my field,” Cuthbertson said. “So, I joined the Coast Guard.”
That was in 1995 and the stint with the Guard took him to Kodiak, Alaska, and Southern California.
In Alaska, he faced 52-foot seas while carrying out his duties and faced drug cartels in Southern California
Cuthbertson took part in a three-ton cocaine bust off the coast of Mexico.
