The Marshall Grange is pleased to present Brongaene (Bronnie) Griffin, for an intimate evening of music, Friday, Nov. 9 beginning at 7 p.m.
Tickets are $10 in advance, $12 at the door and $8 for grangers. They are available at Rose’s Garden Café in Garden Valley, on line at brownpapertickets or by phoning 530-642-8671.
Bronnie began her musical career as an old timey/bluegrass fiddle child prodigy, winning championships throughout the Pacific Northwest.
As a teenager she became enchanted with Irish music through lessons with Kevin Burke and then moved to Ireland where she lived for 10 years. Be
ginning with busking, she honed her skills watching, listening and learning from the best of the Irish fiddlers incorporating their sounds with the old timey/bluegrass sounds which had won her so many competitions as a child.
Since returning to the U.S., Griffin has performed regularly around the country sharing the stage with such musical greats as Gerry O’Beirne, Johnny B. Connolly, Nancy Conescu and Burke.
Griffin’s playing is known for a unique strident and rich tone with a lilt and lift that brings new life to old melodies.
She is visiting the Marshall Grange as part of her California tour promoting her cat themed CD, “Three Colours Ginger.”
For this concert she will be accompanied by guitarist Cary Novotny.
The Marshall Grange is located at 4940 Marshall Road in Garden Valley. Directions may be found at marshallgrange.org. For further information call 530-642-8671.
