Placerville Downtown Association, October 18, 2012
The popular band Aftershock will have the crowd at the Art and Wine Festival on Saturday, Oct. 20 dancing on Main Street in Placerville.
The nine-piece jazz-rock and R&B band features a four-horn section and powerful vocal harmonies.
The band was conceived in the late ’90s. “Philly’ Joe Littel and Gerry Jonutz started what they hoped would be a “high energy”, un-inhibited funk, jazz-rock, R&B band.
The idea was not to limit the band to copying verbatim cover tunes but add their individual twist to the music. This idea allowed the band to create what became a very distinctive sound that grooves and creates an energy listeners can’t help but want to get up and dance.
The idea grew and evolved and after changing a few members and adding a few more in 2004 Aftershock was born and to this day continues to grow and improve its musical dynamic.
Over the last six years, Aftershock’s diverse repertoire has allowed the band to play a variety of venue.
