Is there usually snow near Pollock Pines (Bassi Falls) in November?

Yes, it can snow in Pollock Pines in Nov. We typically get our first "dusting" on Halloween, if the dusting is before Halloween, then it will be a harsh winter. If we get our dusting on Halloween, then it will be a normal winter. All signs up here in Pollock state that we will have a harsh winter this year. The squirrels have been storing nuts since May, the summer was above normal in temps, and the cedar trees are dripping sap everywhere up here. Nov 2010 - we got about eight feet of snow in Pollock - down by the lake, Nov 2011 we got none. If it is a normal winter, snow is heavier Jan - Mar. If it is to be a harsh winter, we will get snow Nov - Mar, and all indications is that this will be a harsh winter. Cannot tell you exactly when it will snow in Nov this year, but we have already gotten 1" of snow two nights ago at Heavenly and Kirkwood ski resorts. Currently we are in the low 30's and upper 20's at night. Check the Farmer's Alamac and it will tell you 2012 - heavier snows expected. Do not bother with weather reports - they are always incorrect. We watch nature and the animals; that usually tells us how bad it will be. But if you are wanting to see the waterfalls, why Nov? the waterfalls occurs in the Spring when the snow melts and run-off occurs over the waterfalls. You are looking for May/June not Nov.

Well, it is Oct and in Pollock we got snow. Safe bet that November will have snow as well.
