GDPUD's Business Manager Resigns, Board Not Informed

On August 27, 2012 GDPUD's Business Manager Mary Pat Frick wrote a letter regarding her resignation on August 27, 2012.  GDGUP's GM Hank White writes that accounting firms were notified of the open position and soliciting accounting services. Recently GDPUD managers petitioned to form a bargaining unit and listed Finance Director is listed Mary Pat Frick as vice president. Frick just recently returned to work following a serious automobile accident.

Mary Pat Frick has been the Business/Finance Manager Georgetown Divide Public Utility District for 10 years but her unexpected resignation was not communicated to the Board at the September meeting.  Althought she resigned on August 27, and other accounting firms were solicited and requested to response by Sept. 27th, the Board was not informed until October 5.

Board member Kathy Otermat said, "Interesting, to say the least, how long the GM took to inform the board and was no doubt only because I asked."

The solicitiation for services reads:
The Georgetown Divide Public Utility District is interested in soliciting accounting services to:

• maintain its general ledger;
• prepare quarterly budget-to-actual reports,
• prepare for the annual audit (including the preparation of the draft basic financial statements),
• complete the annual State Controller's Reports, and
• other accounting work as required.

 It is anticipated that the work can be accomplished in about 1,000 hours a year.  However, these hours will be more concentrated in late October, January and April when the quarterly reports are required and July, August and September when the year-end and audit work occurs.  Experience with governmental public utility districts and Multiple Operations Manager (MOM) software developed by Corbin Willits would be pluses.
