BINGO
Free Sunday Bingo, from 2pm-6pm, will end for the 2012 year on October 21, 2012. Regular Tuesday continues with Bingo starting at 6:15 and is over by 9:15 on most nights. On the second Tuesday of each month we have our “Big Money Night” Bingo with all regular games paying at least $50.00. The minimum buy-in is $12 for 14 games on this night and includes a full dinner, including main dish, veggies, salad and bread. It’s like playing Bingo for free that night. Specials games are extra. If you have not been to one of our bingo nights, stop by some evening and see how much fun we have. Bingo is one of the biggest fundraisers we have during the year, only being cancelled when we are snowed out.
ROTARY
Rotary sponsors Interact Clubs at Sierra Ridge and Camino Schools. These clubs offer an opportunity for students ages 12-18 to provide service to their schools and communities with Rotary guidance and assistance.
A Monthly Community Breakfast held the second Saturday of each month from September to May (except for December when they work with Rotary for Breakfast with Santa) is one such service opportunity for the club from Sierra Ridge Middle School.
The low cost breakfasts are $3 or $7 for a family. The Community Center supports this project by charging a nominal fee for use of the facility to the club. Students benefit by learning how to make, serve, advertise, and set up and cleanup for the breakfast. (They invite people who come to the Community Center on Saturday for
free bread to enjoy a free breakfast as guests of the Interact Club.)
The proceeds of these services are used to pay for projects that benefit the school, community and, in fact, a project for healthy water wherever needed, such as Africa, and a project for the eradication of Polio.
