Natomas center employs about 300; statewide, number is 1,000
Comcast will close all three of its call-in centers in California, a company representative said Tuesday.
The centers will move operations to other states, including Oregon, Washington and Colorado, Comcast's director of communications added.
About 300 employees work at the call-in center in Sacramento's Natomas area.
The two other centers are located in the Bay Area, in Livermore and Morgan Hill. In total, Comcast employs about 1,000 people in Northern California, the company said.
A meeting was held at the Sacramento Convention Center on Tuesday morning to make the announcement and hand out severance packages.
