I can believe it, the city coffiers are full of money - see the CAFR for this fiscal year. It shows a huge profit, yet, CAFR are "hidden books" from the public - because the first set of books are the altered set that the government wants you to think they do not have much monies, but if you read the CAFR - EDC has a LOT of money available. Yet, in order to "validate" the excessive fees, you only get to see the first set of books. Google "state of california cafr"; it is 300 pages, but check EDC section, EDC has a lot of money, but again, it is located in the "second" set of books which is not released to the public. In addition, typically in order to substaincate a "fee" typically you have to show the "cost analysis" - EDC has yet to prove any of their "fees" via "cost analysis". Also if you want to know what every employee makes, from the Mayor, to the head of Finance or the City's Manager pay and bonus, you can goto the State Controller's office, John Chiang, his office will give you this information, I have the database of all City of Placerville employee's salary, pension and bonuses, including every County employee's salary, pension and bonuses. Did you the City of Placerville's City Manager, Cleve Morris was give 40k for relocation expenses. Makes over 100k and gets bonuses on completed projects, and we pay for ALL his benefits including benefits for his family. 40k to move from the Central Valley to Placerville? Really, it only costs 15k to move cross-country with Allied moving. In addition, we seemed to have gotten Patterson's rejects, Mr. Morris was apparently going to be fired by the BOS from the City Manager's position and replaced with a more qualified candiate, yet Mr. Morris "resigned" right before the City Council voted to fire him. Sloppy seconds from Patterson, CA, did anyone at City of Placerville, do a background check, do an education check, drug test, anything except give Mr. Morris a large relocation check and large payroll, bonuses, pensions, medical,dental,life, etc benefits? Mr. Morris receives in compensation more than the City of Placerville "states" they have in their coffiers. Yet again, a citizen in the City of Placerville should demand (or invoke the freedom of information act") against the City of Placerville, to see the CAFR for fiscal year ending in June/July - you will see two different stories (lies) being told to the public. But contact John's (State's Controller) and his staff will provide you with every City of Placerville's employee's payroll information. Since we are paying them, we have the right to see how much they are making, DEMAND that employees contribute to their medical/dental benefits and make the pension electable, their choice, but they have to pay. NO GOVERNMENT/PUBLIC employee should be getting salaries that are more than in the private sector. PUBLIC employees have been living off the WELFARE gravy train for tooooo long and it needs to be stop. Whatever standard the private industry uses for employees' paid, should be used in the public sector as well. They need to pay for their benefits, in fact, benefits is not what it should be called anymore, it used to be a benefit, it no longer is since we all have to pay for it.
