Soroptimist of Placerville Sponsors an Annual “Prom Boutique”

Every girl dreams of going to their High School Prom. Soroptimist International of Placerville is helping to make that dream come true. Through donations of new and gently used formal dresses and accessories we are able to provide gowns and accessories to local High School girls at no cost.

Annually, Soroptimist International of Placerville hosts a “Prom Boutique” to help defray a portion of the high cost of attending the prom.

Only a student body card is required.

We also accept donations year-round of new and gently used gowns and accessories from the community. The greater the involvement from the community, the greater the selection of dresses for girls. There are so many people who have beautiful dresses in their closets that they will never wear again – why not share them with young women who might not otherwise be able to go to the prom. Take a look in your closet. Is there a dress or two in there that you wore in a wedding, or to a formal dance, that you're unlikely to wear again? How about recycling those earrings, handbags, wraps and shoes to match!

Donations can be dropped off at any time, at River City Bank, 348 Main Street, Placerville. To have dresses picked up, or if you have any questions about the event, call (530) 344-1476. Gift certificates from local salons, nail salons and shoe stores are gladly accepted.
