Water gushed onto El Dorado Hills Boulevard Wednesday evening after an 8-inch water main broke, snarling traffic in front of the Senior Center and nearby businesses.
The busted pipe is located near a cluster of Sycamore trees in the median just south of Serrano Parkway.
El Dorado Irrigation District crews responded at 7:16 p.m., about an hour after the flooding started, and got the water shut off at 7:58 p.m., according to EID Communications Director Mary Lynn Carlton, who was on site Thursday morning with Operations Director Tom McKinney.
The presence of the trees and a natural gas pipeline nearby delayed the repair, she said.
