

Early Care And Education Planning Council, PR Pond, Sept 11, 2012
The El Dorado County Early Care and Education Planning Council is accepting applications for board membership to fill two vacancies serving at the discretion of the Board of Supervisors and Superintendent of Schools. Successful applicants would be those who are concerned about and/or experienced with child care and early education issues. One vacancy must be consumer representatives which is defined as a parent or person who receives, or who has received care for their children within the past 36 months. One vacancy is a designee position which is defined as an individual appointed at the discretion of the appointing authorities.
The fifteen member council is a legislatively mandated body advising the county Board of Supervisors and county Superintendent of Schools on early care and education program and policy issues. The council provides input on research and analysis, makes recommendations to the California Department of Education on funding priorities for subsidized child care and development programs, and coordinates countywide early care and education projects.
Applicants must submit cover sheet, application and supplemental application to Elizabeth Blakemore, M.Ed, Coordinator, Early Care and Education Planning Council, 6767 Green Valley Road, Placerville, CA 95667. Prospective candidates can call 530-295-2312 for an application packet and additional information. The deadline for applications is Sept. 14 at 5 p.m.
