The Mountaineers Books: “The Pacific Crest Trailside Reader, California: Adventure, History, and Legend on the Long-Distance Trail,” and “The Pacific Crest Trailside Reader, Oregon and Washington are available.
When I first saw the two books I thought they were typical trail guides, but they are not.
This a two-volume collection of the written works of historians, hikers and trail shepherds, spanning all 2,650 miles of this trail from the border with Mexico to Monument 78 at the Canadian border. To assist the reader, both volumes include a trail map to follow story locations.
