This spring Registrar of Voters, Bill Schultz, announced that he was ushering in a new era of helping our military and overseas citizens cast an electronic ballot. Schultz will leverage technology to allow El Dorado to send ballots and voting information electronically to these voters. Schultz said, “enabling us to use technology to streamline ballot delivery to our voters anywhere in the world.”
But that was just the start. Now the county is gettin' jiggy with multi-media communication. That's right! First we discovered gold, then invented the wheelbarrow because carts would not work in our terrain, now we have county information delivered via streaming video!
It may have started with the Board of Supervisor's meeting being streamed live, but now we have individual departments delivering information via video.
First Sheriff John D'Agostini delivers an update via video about an accident on the Rubicon, then the county Chief Administrative Office Terri Daly delivering Budget Investment goals, and now a tour through the county's data center with facilities Manager Russ Fackell.
For those that think EDC is backward you may just have to see it to believe it.
The Sheriff's update about the accedent on the Rubicon is at the end if this story: www.inedc.com/1-1506
And here are the two latest videos.
